Neha Kakkar, born June 6, 1988 is an indian singer most popularly known for her hit song “Mile Ho Tum” from Fever which topped the list of most-viewed Bollywood songs on Youtube. Her singing roots go back to when she was just 4 years old. In order to aid her family financially, she would often perform at religious events and gatherings. She was also selected to participate in the second season of the singing reality show, Indian Idol, however she got eliminated early. Throughout the rest of her childhood she took classes and continued to perform at local gigs in order to perfect her skills in singing. Her bollywood debut came in 2008 with the release of the movie Meerabai Not Out for which she was a chorus singer. Since then, Kakkar has managed to quickly navigate through the ranks of Bollywood by releasing several chart-topping party hits such as “Second Hand Jawani” from Cocktail, “Sunny Sunny” from Yaariyan and “London Thumakda” from Queen. Till date, Kakkar has been nominated for a total of six awards. In 2017, she won Best Duet Vocalist alongside Gippy Grewal at the 4th PTC Punjabi Music Awards for her song “Patt Lainge,” followed by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Favourite Judge award and in 2020 she won Mirchi Social Media Icon of the Year at the 15th Mirchi Music Awards.
