Kumar Sanu

Today, we celebrate the birthday of the versatile and melodious Kumar Sanu, one of India’s most beloved playback singers! Born on September 23, 1957, in Kolkata, Kumar Sanu has been enchanting audiences with his soulful voice for over four decades.

Kumar Sanu, whose real name is Kedarnath Bhattacharya, rose to prominence in the 1990s, becoming one of the most sought-after playback singers in Bollywood. His unique voice, characterized by its softness and emotional depth, has lent itself to countless romantic ballads and heartfelt melodies that have become timeless classics.

Throughout his illustrious career, Kumar Sanu has lent his voice to numerous hit songs in various Indian languages, primarily Hindi. Some of his most memorable tracks include “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha” from “1942: A Love Story,” “Tujhe Dekha Toh” from “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” and “Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai” from “Saajan,” among many others.
