Today, we celebrate the 92nd birth anniversary of Mehmood, one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedians and actors. Born on September 29, 1932, in Mumbai, India, Mehmood Ali left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with his impeccable comic timing and versatile performances.

Mehmood’s journey in the film industry spanned over four decades, during which he appeared in over 300 films. He began his career as a child artist in the 1940s and went on to become one of the highest-paid comedians in Bollywood during the 1960s and 1970s. We are back after a short break with the RJ’s Special for today, a classical bollywood hit, the one and only ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ by Kishore Kumar. While we are all guilty of dancing to this tune (some exceptions noted), very few of us actually know much about this amazing classical number. The track was sung by Kishore Kumar, was produced by R.D. Burman and was part of the popular album ‘Hum Kisise Kum Naheen’. The track was released in the year, 1977 and was an instant hit. It was so popular that to this day you can hear this song playing in parties and it is a must in everyone’s playlists. This track has also been one of the most popular tracks on our station, garnering a ton of popularity. The track was so popular that about 30 years after the track’s release, the famous filmmaker Yash Chopra even decided to make a movie bagging the same name, which was also greeted with much popularity.
